I was given this book (#1 of a 4 book series) in exchange for an honest review, so here goes: The content in this story was well written. The concept is interesting and not something I would expect from Erotica. The main characters are very intriguing and I didn't feel overwhelmed by all the characters' back stories right at the beginning of the book. I like when an author brings each person's history in as it becomes relevent to the main character. That being said, I didn't really get ANY back story on the main character other than something tragic happened. It also felt like there were scenes missing from the story. In some parts, a secondary character walks out of the room and what happens in that other room is referred to at a later point, but the reader is never actually a part what happened. In the few other Erotica novels I have read, the reader is almost sitting in the room watching what is happening. I felt like I was being excluded from certain parts that may have been pertinent to the rest of the storyline. The last chapter leaves off like the end of any other chapter without really finishing the main body of this book. Also, I don't know if it was just the digital copy I recieved, but I found many sentences that were missing a word here and there. It isn't all that uncommon to find a few missed words in any story but this was enough to be a little distracting. All of these things can be fixed with a little more proof-reading or editing. If these issues are addressed, this could easily be one on my Best Read shelf. Like I said at the beginning, what IS in the story is very well done. Over all this could be a very good book and I would like to know what happens in the remaining books in the series. I have book 2 and I will be starting it soon!
